I am not talking about a blog f**m(!!!) – no no no, that would be against google ToS . But instead start a few very legitmate sites in a niche which you just keep on posting and acquiring backlinks, but slowly. Meaning post once or twice a week, and get a few backlinks on each post – ezine, infobarrell, hubpages etc. It is definitely not much work.

Make them niche based but make the niche a very big one. So instead of targeting weight loss products for anorexic teenagers, you could target health supplements. That way when you one day decide to start that weight loss product niche site you can use your health supplement site to back it up with tons of juice. Try to get the sites indexed for as many keywords as possible but don’t get stuck worrying about your serp-ranking.

With blogger and other free platforms it is not going to cost you anything, but I can assure that you are going to appreciate the sites when you roll your sleeves and start building sites. Building your own network is the one of the most important things you can do IMO. It is really frustrating to do it ass backwards if you know what I mean.

So you think I should start a kind of mini blog frm? I have to admit I’ve been toying with that idea lately. About how many posts would you say they should have? 5, 10, 20? Or just keep going with them weekly until they start accruing PR?

I hope your bum marketing pans out. Although I would build a few free hosted blogs on different niches at the same time – you are going to need them once you really star using self hosted sites. I would start four or five Niche sites with quite a general approach (health,finance,etc.) and update them at least weekly. It is not a big job but the work adds up, and when you start your first targeted niche site, you will have one powerful backlink to start with. Just don’t start them thinking you are going to make money off them.

I think the worst part of this is that she is so acceptable when it comes to me trying to make it happen online – if I never make it I’ll let her down seriously. At first I remeber her complaining about the time that I spent doing this “second job”, but I quess when I started seeing some money she understood that this could become something good. Now it is just the time to start multiplying that amount that I get, until I can become my own boss. I am totally treating this as my business and I have made it clear to her that this is not a hobby, neither is it something that I prefer over her. There were times when she had to work two jobs for due to financial reasons and this is the same.

Look on the bright side, when you do create a self-sustaining online business you’ll be able to spend as much time with your family as you want! I hope you get there soon, so you won’t have to feel so guilty.

Damn, talk about reading my mind!

I am in the exact same situation as you man! I have a full-time job, which I recently started and am doing my Internet Marketing in my spare time – so YES, I do have two jobs. Also, I am GUILTY about my wife because when I come back from work I should be spending time with her, but eat then get in front of my laptop. My laptop is public enermy number 1 as far as she’s concerned.

WE really do need to make money quickly and get back in the good books of our women!!!
