I guess I doing slightly wrongly in the sense that I didn’t pick out any keywords before hand. Your method seems much better. It also makes writing a lot easier. 100 keyword, 100 words about each, 10,000 words in total. Easy : )

The biggest problem with this post is that it is poorly written. If I would have written it yesterday, I would have done it differently – this is what I call learning by doing:) Also I have not built any backlinks to this post since I am too busy not SEOing this blog.. I will maybe at some point start building more backlinks but at the moment I am trying to find easier niches to tackle, and faster money to be made.

Writing a post that has 10k words but a is not properly constructed is not going to reveal more keywords to you and it is not going to bring that much more traffic – well not in this niche and not with this site. The thing is that in a niche as competitive as this, finding those long tails would mean that you would already have to know thenm, build the backlinks and so on, to be able to rank for them. The authority mmo sites are already taking the first and second page so you can’t really squeeze a new blog in there.

If you are in a less competitive niche that does not really have too much authority sites – like underwear for small men (just an example I did not do any research here), you could find those long tails if you only had all the keywords somewhere in the post. My biggest problem in a money-niche blog is that I just can’t come up with related keywords. If I was writing about a door, I could write anything about the insulation, the door knob, hinges, glass doors, door windows, different materials, security bolts and so on… The list is endless, and if you manage to put all those words and even try to work a long tail around each “where to buy insulation for my knob”, you would be able to track down those long tails. Writing a 10k post would mean that I would have to have a 100 keyword list with different long tail ideas before I would start writing it. Then just by working each one of them inside the post and crossing them off the list as I do, I would be able to find which ones have traffic and which ones have low competition. So find every thing there are about rugs and work them inside the post and you can benefit from it.

I am writing a 3-4k post about….rugs. I am now at the 2k mark and is feeling tired. So needs a bit of motivation to see if writing long posts really helps to make more money.

Man, that is one loooong post. Just browsing comments in Grizz’s site and trying to avoid work. That has got to be the longest post I have read.

I think you are going to do well as anyone deicated to writing posts like this must have some serious motivation.

Here is to the future where the dedicated earn the cash and the start but stoppers leave the Internet open to those who persevere.
